BeeLine Reader @ Stanford

BeeLine Reader is an award-winning technology that makes reading on screen easier, faster, and more efficient. Thanks to the Schwab Learning Center (which used to be housed at Stanford, and is now part of the CHC on Sand Hill Rd.), our tools are available for free to all Stanford students.

How BeeLine Reader Works

BeeLine makes reading easier using a simple cognitive trick: instead of displaying text in black and white, BeeLine uses an eye-guiding color gradient that pulls your eyes through the text. The gradient helps you read more easily and maintain your focus and attention. Testing by CNET (as reported in The Atlantic) shows that people using BeeLine read almost 50% more than people reading plain black text.

BeeLine Reader Tools

We make browser plugins for use with websites and PDFs. Our web browser plugin works on millions of popular websites, including many research websites. And our PDF viewer works with text-based PDFs. We also have an iOS extension, which works on iPhones and iPads.

You can use the links above to install the tools, and then get access to the accounts for Stanford students via this link.

BeeLine on textbooks, and more!

You can now get BeeLine-enabled textbooks via the Perlego ebook platform. They have over 800,000 textbooks and nonfiction books, and all of their epub books (not PDF-based books) can be read in BeeLine format. If you use this link to sign up, you can save 50% on your first month!

And if you'd like to use BeeLine on other platforms, we'd love to make that happen! Please contact us to let us know where you'd like to be able to access BeeLine. We would also love to hear from you if you have questions, or if you're just enjoying using BeeLine and want to let us know!
